STREAM

STREAM is a uniquely comprehensive and collaborative educational approach that seamlessly integrates Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts and Math into the teaching and learning process. At Saint Anselm School, we strive to integrate these subjects into everything we do from hands-on, problem-solving challenges and strategies to project-based learning.

STREAM is a holistic approach to learning where students explore, analyze, and create while making meaningful real-world connections in the context of their faith. STREAM education actively promotes 21st-century skills, including collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking.

Our enriched science program gives the students many opportunities to work on learning skills such as time management, scientific analysis, organization and collaboration. Students participate in Science Fairs, NEOSEF, and Ohio Science Day.

Technology is a key component to STREAM and is integrated into all subject areas. Our 1:1 Chromebook initiative for grades 5-8 is designed to create an environment where students learn in more meaningful ways, in a deeper context with access to global information. Also, incorporated into our lessons is the use of Ipads, laptops, smartboards and 3DPrinter.

Religion is the foundation of our school and is woven throughout our day and all subjects as we use our God-given talents. We explore religious concepts as we ponder creation and scientific realities or through social justices in terms of economy and use of resources. We reflect on morality as it applies to science, to outreach, and the poor.

Engineering and other STREAM careers are explored through STEM classes, Robotics Club, Technology Club, Destination Imagination, Shark Tank Challenge, coding, and 3D design classes using CAD software.

We are fortunate to have a robust arts programming where students are exposed to fine and performing arts. Students have opportunities to be a member of choir and band, instrument lessons, and fine arts using various mediums.

Our rigorous and challenging math program allows 7th and 8th graders to earn high school credit for our Geometry and Algebra 1 courses. Students also have an opportunity to participate in Math Club.
